Annual Review Overview

The Annual Review function within the Personnel Module of CBS allows the various groups (Departments, College, Dean, and Admin) to view, input, generate forms for, and export information from CAHNRS employees' annual reviews.

Annual Review Workflow

Department View

The Department view within the annual review function creates a list of employees whose home or appointing department matches user permissions upon logging in. The role of the person assigned to use the Department view is to:

1) Verify that the employees listed within that department view are correct

2) If employees listed are not correct, initiate or arrange for PERMS actions to ensure employees appear in their appropriate departments' lists. The following official CAHNRS definition should be used to determine whether an employee is correctly appearing in a department list:

  • Home Department = the department that processes the faculty employee’s paperwork (i.e. leave reports, personnel, etc.)

  • Appointing Department = the department the employee is assigned (tenure/discipline, program unit, etc.). This appointing department is responsible for completing the annual review (per annual review instructions from the Dean).

3) Generate annual review forms with pre-populated headers

4) Enter Unit Merit Ratings for employees

5) View mean and standard deviation information

College View

The College view shows a list of unit heads for the Deans and Associate Dean's to see, based on the employees that were excluded from the department view (i.e. employees do not have access to their own annual reviews.)
