Adjust home directory quota

Create billing entry

Out in Cahnrs.It\ServiceCenter\Billing is an excel file called "StorageCustmomers". Create an entry in this file for the new share,billing, being sure to specify all required information. In the "Service" column enter in "home" and in the quota column put in the requested amount minus the free 20GB. For example a request for a 500GB home directory would be entered in as 480GB so they are not billed for their free portion.

Naming scheme

File shares are named "Area.Dept.Lab/Prog" using abbreviations as appropriate.

Create AD groups

Using your T1 console RDP into Viper.ad.wsu.edu after activating your T1 role. Open up the OU at WSU->CAHNRS->IT->Services->Storage->Groups and create two new groups named ShareName.R and ShareName.RW. These groups will be used to manage read and read/write permissions on the root of the file share.

Be sure to add the appropriate Cloud.Support.* group to each of the above groups.

Create file share

Login to the active cloud node using the admin credentials stored in LastPass. Unger ControlPanel->SharedFoldersControlPanel->Domain/LDAP and select "Domain Users". Enter the network ID of the user in the filter and then right click "Create". Provideon the fileuser share name, enable the recycle bin, go to advanced,record and enableselect "Edit". Open the quota tab and scroll down to the "homes" share record, and in the "Quota column specify the limit.total requested size, e.g. 500GB. Click create. You will then be able to set permissions. Give R/W access to the local admin,ok and then under AD Groups find the two groups you just created and give them R and R/W privileges as appropriate.****logout.
